Dr. Steve Chiasson, originally from Sydney, Nova Scotia, has forged a remarkable path in equine veterinary medicine. His journey commenced with pre-veterinary studies at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career. In 1995, he achieved academic excellence, graduating with Honors from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown.
For over two decades, Dr. Steve has been a stalwart figure and vanguard in the equine veterinary community. In 2004, he co-founded Agwest Veterinary Group Ltd., demonstrating his vision for progressive and comprehensive veterinary care.
Dr. Steve’s professional interests are indicative of his forward-looking mindset. He’s deeply engaged in the exciting realm of sports medicine for horses, constantly exploring cutting-edge technologies to advance his equine veterinary practice. His influence extends globally, as he imparts his knowledge on veterinary medical acupuncture to an international audience.
Notably, in 2019, Dr. Steve made history by becoming the first Certified Lameness Locator® Practitioner in Canada. This groundbreaking achievement signifies his commitment to pushing the boundaries of lameness services for the well-being of horses.
